The Royal Tour: Ceylon -- Colombo Harbour: Colombo is the capital of Ceylon and is familiar to all travellers to the Far East and Australia as a port of call. The town lies on the West coast; its artificial harbour was built by the British, the first stone of its 4000 ft. long breakwater having been laid by Edward VII, when he was Prince of Wales.
