Archeological excavations at Tilpat, 13 miles from Delhi on Delhi-Muttra road, have reveled that the site was under occupation as early as the 6th-5th century B.C. Tilpat is believed to be one of the villages which the Pandavas wanted to get from the Kauravas during the course of negotiations which preceded the great battle described in the epic of Mahabharata.Terracotta figurines from Tilpat.
